Back to roots.

A while back we decided that as much as possible we would eat organic. Not the cheapest option these days, so combined with the thought it would be good for the girls to get the experience of growing their own food we applied for an allotment.
We were recently called by the council who offered us a small allotment, No 26. This being our first attempt, we jumped at the offer, figuring it was best to start small, with our names still on the list for a bigger allotment.
Today, as it was not raining, we decided to go and get started on producing our own food so armed with a couple of implements and seven girls we went to attack the allotment. The girls were very helpful although they did venture off to see how many ladybirds they could get on one leaf, as well as climb a willow tree.
While we did not get to turn over the whole plot, I think we did quite well for the first time. We did reap where we did not sow as the previous tenant had not totally cleared the plot. So potato and onion soup I think is called for.
